Save the Children runs Child Friendly Spaces, which are rooms where children can play and recover from the traumatic experiences they’ve been through.
Save the Children staff and volunteers worked late in to the night to turn what had been a bare tent, in to a warm and welcoming space for Ukrainian refugees in northern Romania. From the moment it opened, children were looking through the windows at the coloured toys and games inside, and were welcomed in.
